Over-training

I am a 20-year-old young man and I am very crazy about fitness. Even though I feel pain in my muscles, I keep doing workouts. However, I am worried that I might be overtraining and causing damage to my muscles. How can I know that I have done over-training? What are the symptoms of over-training?

According to a fitness trainer, some symptoms of over-training are:
  • Lethargy
  • Decreased muscle size
  • Mood swing
  • Reduced motivation for training
  • Feeling sick

Why do people over-train?

Many times people exercise by lifting more weight due to stress or anger. Some people exercise twice a day to get in shape quickly. Some people start exercising more by competing with people who are gyming with them.

Whatever the reason may be, but excessive exercise also hurts. Doing so releases cortisol, which is considered a 'stress hormone'. This can make it more difficult to complete your fitness goal.

Hardcore training is necessary to make muscle, but it should not be overdone. This does not mean, however, that you should stop exercising or exercise occasionally. Exercise regularly, but do not do so much that the pain starts. Such exercises harm you.

You should know when to skip the gym, your body will give you hints such as fatigue, extra soreness, etc. If you do not take care of your body at this time then it will lead to injuries.
Injuries not only stop your progress but it also gives you a setback. And you have to do it all over again.
